World Weightlifter Mohammed Yasin visits Erbil Club |

Today, the world weightlifter, Mohammed Yasin, visited Erbil Club who has been hosted by Club President, Dr. Abdullah Majeed, and administrators and Media Department. This is Mohammed’s first visit to Kurdistan Region since he left it in 1991 and went to Sweden with his family. In a friendly discussion, Mohammed Yasin expressed his admiration for improvements in the Erbil Club. Before he leaves the club, Dr. Abdullah Majeed honored him with Club Armor. It is worth mentioning Mohammed Yasin, born in 1963 in Erbil City. He won first place in Iraq and the Arab Championships many times in weight 75 kg. He also won the first place in the Asia three times and participated in the 1980 Moscow Olympics and won eighth place, in the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984, he placed fifth, and at the world championships which took place in 1989 in Greece, he won third place. In 1991 through 1995, he represented Sweden and won the championship of Scandinavia.
