On Sunday January 24, 2010 the process of removing grass in Erbil Club Stadium has commenced. The removal has started due to being unfit to play on after so many matches. The old grass will be swapped by a new one. This process will be done by Ava Spor Company and supported by Erbil City Governorate. Mahmoud Aziz, Erbil Club secretary, said that matches of Erbil will be played on Handren or Arart Stadium.
