Yassin Tahir Marouf, who is currently Admin Manager inside Erbil Club, is considered the oldest referee in Erbil City. He is one of those people who established Erbil Club in 1968. He is the only club establisher who works in Erbil Club until this moment. To know more about this beloved personality, Erbil Club Website has made an interview with him. Erbil Club Website: When did you start refereeing? Yassin Tahir: Before getting Referee Certificate, I was practicing this sport art and I really enjoyed it till I started to work officially as a referee in 1960.
Erbil Club Website: What is your level of refereeing? Yassin Tahir: in 1968, I participated in special course for referees and I got third level degree certificate and I reached first level in 1974.
Erbil Club Website: What is the best match did you lead? Yassin Tahir: The best match that I led was Erbil Team and Nifitchi match in 1976. Nifitchi was a team from Soviet Union.
Erbil Club Website: Which referee in Kurdistan Region and in Iraq as whole had effect on you? Yassin Tahir: Inside Kurdistan Region, the Kurdish International Referee, Salah Mohammed Kareem, had effect on me, and in Iraq, the Iraqi International Referee, Subhi Adeeb influenced me. Erbil Club Website: How do you see the performance of refereeing nowadays? Yassin Tahir: In our days, generally speaking, refereeing reached a high level because of new policies and good incomes for referees.
